HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Okemesi Ekiti originated from Ile-Ife the ancient and ancestral home of the entire Yorubas race. Ooye lagbo, the founder or originator of the town was the eldest daughter of Olofin the last king on the line of Oodua-the father of the Yoruba. She was the eldest sister of Ajibogun-the Owa Obokun of Ijesha land in Osun State. They were of the same mother, by name, Seputu.
CONTEXTE HISTORIQUE: Okemesi Ekiti est originaire d'Ile-Ife, la maison ancienne et ancestrale de toute la race Yorubas. Ooye Lagbo, le fondateur ou créateur de la ville était la fille aînée d'Olofin, le dernier roi de la lignée d'Oodua, le père des Yoruba. Elle était la sœur aînée d'Ajibogun, l'Owa Obokun du pays d'Ijesha dans l'État d'Osun. Ils étaient de la même mère, du nom de Seputu.

نشأت Okemesi Ekiti من Ile-Ife، الموطن القديم والأجداد لعرق اليوروبا بأكمله. Ooye lagbo، المؤسس أو منشئ المدينة، كان الابنة الكبرى لأولوفين، آخر ملوك على خط Oodua، والد اليوروبا. كانت الأخت الكبرى لأجيبوغون-أوا أوبوكون من أرض إيجيشا في ولاية أوسون. كانوا من نفس الأم، بالاسم، سيبوتو.
When the children of Olofin were to leave Ile-Ife in their sojourns to found their own kingdoms, their father-Olofin told them to share his royal paraphernalia and properties consisting crowns and their state gods deities (idols) among themselves. Ooye Lagbo being the eldest daughter and the princess who knew more about the royal treasures and the secret of these idols, was the one tasked with sharing the patrimony. She gave them a crown each. She understandably chose the best of the crowns for herself together with one AJASE sword and some other states idols; such as: Obanifon, Oduduwa, Ogun and Ooni etc.
Lorsque les enfants d'Olofin devaient quitter l'Ile-Ife lors de leur séjour pour fonder leurs propres royaumes, leur père Olofin leur a dit de partager entre eux son attirail royal et ses propriétés constituées de couronnes et de leurs dieux d'État (idoles). Ooye Lagbo étant la fille aînée et la princesse qui en savait le plus sur les trésors royaux et le secret de ces idoles, était chargée de partager le patrimoine. Elle leur a donné à chacun une couronne. Elle a naturellement choisi la meilleure des couronnes pour elle-même, ainsi qu'une épée AJASE et quelques idoles d'autres États ; tels que : Obanifon, Oduduwa, Ogun et Ooni etc.
عندما كان على أبناء أولوفين مغادرة إيل-إيفي في إقامتهم لتأسيس ممالكهم الخاصة، طلب منهم والدهم أولوفين أن يشاركوا أدواته الملكية وممتلكاته التي تتكون من التيجان وآلهة دولتهم (الأصنام) فيما بينهم. كانت Ooye Lagbo الابنة الكبرى والأميرة التي تعرف المزيد عن الكنوز الملكية وسر هذه الأصنام، وهي المكلفة بمشاركة التراث. وأعطتهم تاجًا لكل منهم. من المفهوم أنها اختارت أفضل التيجان لنفسها مع سيف AJASE وبعض أصنام الدول الأخرى؛ مثل: Obanifon وOduduwa وOgun وOoni وما إلى ذلك.
These idols are mostly deified ancestors of the Yoruba race. Olofin, himself, was afterwards also deified and is worshiped up till today. This is the actual origin of Okemesi. Okemesi Ekiti is renowned for her deep historical connection with Ekiti and Ijesha Kingdoms and their people in general. The histories of Ekiti will not only be incomplete, it will be empty also without the mention of the name Prince Fabunmi and his roles in KIRIJI WAR. He will never be forgotten as the deliverer and liberator of all the Ekiti and Ijesha kingdoms under the unbearable yoke of Ibadan People.
Ces idoles sont pour la plupart des ancêtres déifiés de la race Yoruba. Olofin lui-même fut ensuite également divinisé et est vénéré jusqu'à aujourd'hui. C’est la véritable origine de l’Okemesi. Okemesi Ekiti est réputée pour son lien historique profond avec les royaumes Ekiti et Ijesha et leur peuple en général. L'histoire d'Ekiti ne sera pas seulement incomplète, elle sera également vide sans la mention du nom du prince Fabunmi et de ses rôles dans KIRIJI WAR. Il ne sera jamais oublié en tant que libérateur de tous les royaumes Ekiti et Ijesha sous le joug insupportable du peuple Ibadan.
