NOTHING LASTS FOREVER: The story of RAGOLIS Water, and all of us.

*NOTHING LASTS FOREVER: The story of RAGOLIS Water, and all of us.*

There was a time when RAGOLIS Water didn’t just quench thirst — it defined bottled water in Nigeria. In offices, on street corners, and at events, people didn’t ask for water. They said, “Buy RAGOLIS.” That’s how powerful the brand was — a pioneer born in 1981 through a Partnership between Nigeria’s Chagoury Group and France’s Société des Eaux de Volvic. Drawn from natural springs in Ikorodu and packaged with class, it was the first ISO-certified bottled water in Nigeria. Clean. Prestigious. Trusted. By the 2010s, it was producing 2 million litres a month, dominating cities from Lagos to Kano. RAGOLIS sat on the throne. Until the tides changed.

Then came the challengers like Eva, Nestlé Pure Life, Aquafina, CWay — armed with deeper pockets, aggressive distribution, and relentless marketing. RAGOLIS, once unshakable, tried to rebrand. But the world had moved on. Electricity became luxury. Diesel became gold. Imported bottles soared in cost. The foreign exchange crisis battered production. Nigerians grew skeptical of the “Spring water” promise. Gradually, the spotlight dimmed. RAGOLIS still exists but as a whisper, not a roar. As our people say: *“The tree that once gave shade will still fall when termites finish their quiet work.”*

But RAGOLIS is not alone. Look around — where is Omo in the detergent aisle today? Where is Sagem in the Phone market? Where is Kito, JVC, Mirinda? Replaced!. Forgotten!!. This is the cycle of Life. The Old fade, the New take over. Even the elders we now see with grey hairs and bent backs were once the hottest and most admired of their time. The truth is nothing lasts forever. Power fades. Beauty wilts. Influence shifts. As the Igbo adage goes: *“Onye si na chi ya adịghị agbanwe, aka egbu ya n’egwu.” - (He who thinks his destiny won't ever change will dance himself to death).*

So, while you are still strong, use your Strength with Purpose. While you are still seen and heard, speak wisdom. Add value. Serve. Build things that time cannot erase. Don’t wait until relevance becomes HISTORY. “Take advantage of five before five: your Youth before your old age, your Health before sickness, your riches before poverty, your free time before you get busy, and your Life before your death.” These are the Seasons of our lives and every Season has an expiry date.

RAGOLIS was great. So was Nokia. So were yesterday’s Kings. So were we — at one point or another. But the question remains: WHAT WILL YOU LEAVE BEHIND? As the Yoruba say: *“Ká p’Ajúba silẹ dé isu alọlọ” –(Let us bow and plant yam while the rains still fall).* Don’t waste your sharp cutlass on empty fields. Sow now, while your hands are strong. Time waits for no one.

....The story of RAGOLIS is not just about a water brand. It is a mirror — reflecting you, me and all of us. THINK ABOUT IT.
